Welcome to Vista Alternative High School!

This year we will be celebrating our 20th year serving the students of YUHSD. Since 1991, we have had more than 2000 students graduate from our school.

The traditional high school setting does not meet the needs of all students. Vista Alternative High School is proud to offer another option for students to meet the requirements for earning their high school diploma. Vista serves 300 students a year and provides differentiated instruction with a low student-teacher ratio. Students at VAHS each have an individualized Alternative Learning Plan (ALP), which guides their course of study.

Our Vista Alternative High School staff is committed to creating a positive environment where all students learn essential skills and experience success that fosters positive self-esteem and values life long learning.

Vista Alternative High School provides our community with an academic program that meets a wide variety of student abilities, attitudes, and learning styles. It has established a tradition of cooperation, appropriate classroom behavior, and pride in accomplishment.
