Going to the Workforce

Yuma Union High School District prepares students for the workforce by combining classroom learning with hands-on experiences through comprehensive Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Work-Based Learning (WBL) programs. All CTE students participate in WBL activities such as career exploration, internships, and apprenticeships, ensuring they gain practical skills that align with their future goals.

Opportunities like Diversified Cooperative Education (DCE), healthcare clinicals, agricultural experiences, and service-learning projects allow students to engage directly with their chosen fields during high school. These experiences equip students to become skilled, job-ready professionals while building pathways to success and strengthening the community.

Meet with your school counselor to explore potential Work-Based Learning opportunities and take the next step toward your career goals.

STEDY

Southwest Technical Education District of Yuma (STEDY) provides hands-on job skills training for high school students through career and technical education (CTE) programs. As a Career and Technical Education District (CTED), STEDY partners with local high schools to offer vocational courses that prepare students for high-demand careers. These programs allow students to gain real-world experience, certifications, and skills that will help them enter the workforce or continue their education after high school.
